William “Bill” A. Wood

William

William “Bill” Allen Wood, 90, of Lincoln, passed away March 28, 2020. Born March 8, 1930 in Marianna, Arkansas to George and Patricia (Howe). Owner of Wood Construction Co., Inc. Long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the activities there.

Bill graduated from Imperial high school in Imperial NE and was married to Doris on June 24, 1951. He served in the Korean war in both the Army and Airforce for two years. After the war he worked for All Aluminum Window Company, managed Mobile Home Plaza trailer court, and worked as the foreman for George Cook Construction Company. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church. He served on the board at Lincoln Lutheran Junior High School and served on the board for Cornhusker Country Music association in Louisville, NE. He was instrumental in organizing the annual Wahoo country music event. Bill enjoyed many activities like gardening, fishing, and cooking new recipes. He was a pilot and loved to fly his plane. Bill also enjoyed music and playing the dobro. He spent the winter months in Texas for 23 years enjoying the warm weather.

Family members include his wife Doris; brother, Burge Wood; daughters Kathrine (Alan) Moore, Lincoln, Nancy (David) Lawrence, Eagle, Sue (Rocky) May, Lincoln; Son David (Sue) Wood, Lincoln; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; Preceded in death by parents, sister in laws Norma Haney and Judy Wood; brothers “Max” Wood and Johnny Wood, and grandson Sean McCollum. Bill also had many other family members and friends.

Private viewing and graveside services to be held. Burial in Wyuka Cemetery. Officiated by Dan Wing of Trinity Lutheran Church.
