Todd Ryan Ball

Todd Ryan Ball of Lincoln, NE passed away at age 70 on August 6, 2019 surrounded by his family. Born August 3, 1949 in Fremont, NE to Rod and Joyce (Osterloh) Ball. Todd Graduated from Fremont High class of 1967, Midland Lutheran College and studied theology and educational ministry at Wittenberg University.

“T.R.” as he was called by his Navy brothers, entered the U.S. Navy on Oct 9th 1967 and served aboard the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk (CVA-63) until his honorable discharge on Aug 5th 1971. Todd served in and worked as a skilled carpenter for the National Guard for the majority of his career.

Todd is survived by his wife of 34 years, Rhonda Lu (Thurber) Ball; children Rachael and Justin Spence, Andrew and Anna Roberts, Anthony Roberts and Sherri Brouillette, Asher Ball and Krystal Herrmann, Aaron and Alexandra Ball; grandchildren Thora and Iliana Spence, Michael and Calvin Ball, Julianna and John Roberts; mother Joyce (Osterloh) Ball, sister Darcy and Tom McBride, and brother-in-law Dwight York; parents-in-law, Marvin and Phyllis Thurber, and brothers-in-laws Rick and Mary Thurber and Greg Thurber; cousins Joe, Mark and Brock Schnebel, John and Karen Osterloh; nieces Addie (York) Rysavy, Christy (Thurber) Fowler; nephews Chris, Rafe and Zane York, Ben, Thatcher and Eli McBride and numerous good friends.

He is joined in his heavenly journey by his sister Robyn York, father Rod Ball, grandparents Emil and Laura Osterloh, Ira and Glendora Ball, best friends Gerry Lawson, Robert “Chick” Farris and Greg Faas.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2019 at First Christian Church, 430 S. 16th in Lincoln. Nieces and nephews named as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to be directed to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Hooper, NE or First Christian Church, Lincoln, NE or Sarcoma Foundation of America.
