Shirley Anne Ross-Wiemers, 90, of Lincoln, passed away December 18, 2019. She was born January 29,1929 in rural Reynolds, NE to Henry ‘Hank’ and Sarah Jane (Bevington) Ross.
She is a graduate of Hebron High School and Kearney State. After graduation she worked as a school teacher in rural Nebraska. She married Duane Wiemers in Hubbel on May 26, 1950. After raising their four children in Concordia, KS and McCook they eventually retired in Bella Vista, Arkansas where Shirley became a very active member of the Lions Club. She has been involved with Habitat for Humanity and is a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her daughter Carol & Stephen Fox of Havelock, NC and their children Jennifer Fox and Stephen Jr. & Abbie Fox; daughter Karen & Emil Walla of Omaha; daughter Cathy & Don Knorr of Rose and their children Jarrod & Christiana Knorr, Derek & Jennifer Knorr, and Tamra & Kolby Blake; and son Kim Wiemers of McCook and his children Alan & Christy Wiemers and Brian & Anne Wiemers; 24 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; her sisters Marjorie Mammen of Western, Joyce & Marvin Hohensee of Lincoln; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by husband Duane; sisters Rosalie (Dale) DeyErmand, Janet (Robert) Brown, and Bonnie (Leo) Hohensee.
