Ruth “Betty” Hirtzel, 102, Lincoln, Died 4/30/21 in Wahoo, NE. She was born 4/13/1919 in Lincolnville, KS to Frank and Agnes (Ptacek) Slaby. She retired from Goodyear where she worked as a belt flipper. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Am. Legion Aux. Post #342, DAV Aux., VFW, Aux. and was a volunteer at the Veteran’s Hospital and Lancaster Manor.
Family includes: Son, Wayne (Dot) Kubitz, Lincoln; daughter, Carla (Scott) Finkner, Lincoln; grandchildren, Jeff (Tammy) Kubitz, Laura Kubitz and Nicole Finkner; great grandchildren, Jeremy Kubitz, Katrina Pierce and Tasha Pierce; sister Lucille Nealy, Lincoln, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carl, 4 brothers and 6 sisters.
Funeral Mass will be held 10:00AM, Wednesday, 5/5/21 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 6111 Morrill Ave., Lincoln, NE. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral at the church.
Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or any Veteran’s Association.
