Virginia Mae Woodrum, age 93, of Lincoln, died April 4, 2019. She was born in Lincoln, NE on May 7, 1925 to Arthur and Elsie (Bien) Young.
Virginia was a member of Havelock Christian Church and was active in Cub Scouts and PTA and was an Election Precinct worker for 42 years. She enjoyed traveling, writing letters to the editor, and reading biographies and history books. Her hobbies included making bookmarks for the children who attended the Anderson Library, Christmas crafts, and baking cookies for nursing homes. Over her lifetime, she donated 19 gallons of blood to the Community Blood Bank.
Virginia is survived by her daughters Susan Janssen of Omaha, Peggy (Lorvey) Stark of Lincoln, and JoAnn (Bill) Leung of Castle Rock, CO; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Lester (Woody), parents, two sisters, two brothers, son David, and son-in-law Donald Janssen.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday (4-9-19) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street with Pastor Mary McQueen officiating.
Memorials in lieu of flowers to Havelock Christian Church or charity of choice.
