Timothy (Tim) Allan Fischer entered his eternal dwelling in heaven on December 14th, 2022 at the age of 61. He was born in Lincoln, NE on February 6th, 1961 to Ron and Helen Fischer (both deceased). Aside from Ron, Tim was the only boy in the family and grew up alongside three sisters: Linda, Lori, and Joyce. Tim eventually married and he along his former wife, Deb, had two sons: Eric (born September, 1987; united in marriage to Lauren in 2009) and Zach (born September, 1988; united in marriage to Amber in 2011). He also had a daughter, Alex (born June, 1993; united in marriage to Matt in 2018). Alex spent the past several years caring faithfully for Tim while his strength and health declined.
Tim is known for his sense of humor, his hard work, and his selfless service. He was a believer in Jesus Christ, who through His death and resurrection, saved Tim unto eternal life. Tim served the gospel ministry at Temple Baptist Church by driving the church van around Lincoln to pick up kids who wanted to attend Wednesday night AWANA or Youth Group. He also served the gospel ministry at Whispering Cedars Baptist Camp, donating his time, possessions, and skills in a variety of ways. Tim was a blue collar worker who owned and operated Lincoln Neon Sign Company after his father, Ron, who started the business, retired. He provided quality electric sign service to businesses all over Lincoln. Laughter was a key part of Tim’s life even as his health declined. He especially enjoyed sharing laughs with his family. He was the proud grandfather to Baylee, Elijah, Odin, Kinley, Elsie, Coen, Charles, Ashton, and Dallas.
Visitation will be on Saturday, December 17th at Temple Baptist Church, 4940 Randolph St, Lincoln, NE 68510, at 9:00am with the memorial service to follow at 10:00am. A private family burial will be held another time.

I grew up with both Eric and Zach Fischer. I went to Elementary school with them, and played baseball with Zach. Although I have lost touch with them over the years, I have never forgotten their Dad, who I had had several interactions with when I was younger. I just heard the news through my Dad. I will always remember his laugh, and him as a guy that loved to joke around. I don’t think I ever saw him in a bad mood. He was such a joy to be around. Thoughts and prayers to Zach, Eric, and the rest of the Fischer family.

I was one of the kids that Tim drove in the church van on Wednesday nights. I remember his twinkling eyes, bright smile and easy laughter. Tim’s generosity made the world a better place.

Tim was a childhood/neighborhood friend. We attended Hawthorne, Lefler and Lincoln High together. He was such a great guy. I’m sorry for your loss.
