Thomas E. Domingo, of Lincoln, loving son, husband, and father of three, passed away May 17, 2021 at age 78.
Tom was born on January 28, 1943 in Lincoln, NE to Harold and Flossie (Ratliff) Domingo. Raised in Weeping Water on a farm, Tom enjoyed the daily living and challenges farm life brought. After HS graduation, Tom joined the US Marine Corps in 1962 with tours in the Philippines, Japan, and California. In 1967, after serving his country, he returned to Nebraska and attended the Universal Trades School for Auto Mechanics in Omaha. Shortly after graduation, he married DeAnna Taylor and raised three kids, Becky Lambley (Kevin) of Overland Park, KS, Brad Domingo (Lorri) of Huntsville, AL, and Brenda Robinson (Mark) of Timnath, CO. He had nine grandchildren, Tyler, Kelsey (Kyle), Morgan (Colin), Katilyn, Jacob, Rachel, Sydney, Samantha, and Rylee, and three great-grandchildren, Lennon, Reese, and Noah.
From his upbringing, Tom had a passion for hard work and service to others. He worked at the Lincoln Goodyear Plant from 1968-2000 and was a volunteer Parole Officer. Upon retirement, he began volunteering for the city as a handyman for the elderly. He was known as a jack of all trades and for his practical jokes, quick wit, infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. Tom and DeAnna’s compassionate spirit was seen through their hosting of multiple foreign exchange students, remaining in contact throughout the rest of their years.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Flossie; wife of 36-years, DeAnna; and sisters, Bernie Yvonne (Meeske) and Nancy. He is survived by his brother, Kenneth Domingo (Phyllis), brothers-in-law, Bob Mays (Donna) and Gayle Meeske, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including Pat Novak.
