Sydna Susan (Fuchs) Woodruff, 79, Lincoln, passed away Thursday (3-31-11). Among many things Sydna was a caring spouse, a mother of two, a grandmother of five and a great grandma of one.
She was born on July 1, 1931 in Omaha, Nebraska to Bert L. and Pearl Sydna (Jones) Fuchs. She attended Scripps College and graduated from UNL in 1953 with a major in French. She had a brilliant mind. She had an abundance of knowledge along with a memory of every person, place, or thing she came across.
Her love of animals will live on. She was a supporter of the Humane Society. She lived a full life of traveling, nurturing, and being a loving mother and grandmother. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels. She was a Duplicate bridge club member, an avid reader and a member of a number of book clubs. She enjoyed her summers at Cass Lake on Star Island.
Sydna was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and Delta Gamma Alumni Association.
Sydna will live through her husband, Foster, daughters, Marcia Bloom and Sydna Cooper, sons-in-law, Jack Cooper and Scott Bloom, grandchildren, Katie and Sydna Cooper, MacKenzie, Logan, and Seeley Bloom, great grandchild, Jackie Cooper.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Monday (4-4-11) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street. Dr. Phil Heckman, officiating.
Memorials to the Tabitha Meals on Wheels or Capital Humane Society.
Closed Casket Visitation: 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, funeral home.
