Stephen C. Bealer, 69, of Lincoln, NE passed away August 11, 2018 at the VA Hospital in Omaha. Steve was born October 14, 1948 in Washington, Iowa to Donald and Darlene (Payne) Bealer. He served our country in Viet Nam with the U.S. Army. He retired after 36 years with Hy-Vee and as market manager took great pride in the number of market managers he trained. After retiring he also spent several years as a supervisor for a glass coating company. He was raised in the Methodist Church, was an Eagle Scout and a lifetime member of V.F.W. He was an avid Viking and Hawkeye fan. He enjoyed golf, especially when he could golf with family members.
Family members include his wife Joan “Joni”; daughter Shayne (Clark) Freesemann, Greene, IA; sons Brad (Kim) Tolsdorf, Riverside, IA, Dan (Mandy) Denhardt and Jeremy Bealer (Melissa Escamilla), all of Lincoln. His 12 grandchildren include Brandon, Stephen, Kyle, Erica, Jacob, Danielle, Gabe, Brady, Devyn, Skylar, Greyson and Nicholas. Brandon and Stephanie Bealer are expecting his first great-grandchild! Steve is also survived by his sister Donna Leyden, of Riverside, IA; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend Cindy Ahn. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Barbara Wilson.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Drive (40th & Yankee Hill Rd.), with Pastor Jim Louk officiating. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday (9-18-18) Omaha National Cemetery.
Memorials in lieu of flowers to the family for future designation.
