Sidney Hahn Culver, 93, Lincoln passed away October 8, 2018. Born October 26, 1924 in Hutchinson, KS to Orley B. and Mildred A. (Hicks) Mayfield. Ret. 1990 after 18 years as foreign language instructor at University of Nebraska Lincoln.
Sidney earned a BME, MME and PhD. from the University of Kansas. Sidney was a member of First Lutheran Church, Mu Phi Epsilon, Pi Kappa Lambda, Alpha Omicron Pi, charter member of UNL S.A.G.E. and principal cellist for the Lincoln Civic Orchestra.
Family members include her son Christopher M. (Paula) Hahn; grandchildren, Geoffrey, Mission, KS., Scott (Leryn) Hahn; great-grandchildren Triniti and Greyson, of Olathe, KS; sister Lelia M. Coyne, Billingham, WA; nieces Heather and Gwen Coyne. Preceded in death by her parents; husbands Marcus Hahn and Gordon Culver and two brothers.
A memorial service will be held at the First Lutheran Church, 1551 South 70th Street on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
