Scott Alan Underwood, 46, of Lincoln, entered into the rest of Christ on April 5, 2023. He was born on July 26, 1976 in Wayne, Nebraska, the son of Archie and Barbara nee Cook Underwood.
Beloved, we are God’s children now, it does not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
1 John 3:2-3 RSV
Educated in Lincoln, Nebraska, he was a graduate of East High School followed by various employment in the retail sector.
Dedicated to physical fitness, he was also an avid cyclist. He was noted for his interests in drawing and a wide scope of reading with a hunger to learn more. He was a kind man, forgiving, and loved his family deeply.
Baptized into the Christian faith on September 5, 1976, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Carroll, Nebraska, he publicly professed his faith in confirmation on May 5, 1991 at Christ Lutheran Church, Lincoln.
Beset by a variety of emotional distresses, he struggled incessantly and with hope against the temptation of self-medication and seems in his final days to have found peace and strength. On a cool and sunny Wednesday, while riding his bike, God called him home. Scott suffered a heart related incident and entered into the rest of Christ on April 5, 2023, in Lincoln, Nebraska. He will be laid to rest at Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln.
He is survived by his children Ethan and Safiya Underwood and Infinity O’Connell, by his mother and stepfather Barbara and Kent Sprague, his brother Craig (Lynette) Underwood, by 2 half-brothers, Jeff (Jane) and Jim, by four step siblings, Gordon, Dawn, Michael (Niece), and Troy, and by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Archie, his grandparents, and by aunts and uncles.

Barbra and Kent and family. Please accept my sympathy for Scott’s passing. I never met him but I feel I knew him through Barbra. He was lucky to have her as his mother. He was taken too early but he now lives in paradise
