Sandra Ruth Vosta (Weyer) “Sandy”, 75. October 4, 1942 – December 6, 2017. Sandy was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Rosalie Horlivy (Arp) and Thomas Weyer. Sandy’s family moved to Fairbury, Nebraska, and eventually settled in Lincoln, Nebraska.
In 1961, Sandy married George W Welter and they had four children together. In 1968, her husband, who was a Lincoln Police Officer, tragically died in the line of duty. Later she married widower, Richard L Egger, and joined their families with his two children. The family was completed with the birth of their daughter in 1970. In 1991, she married Gary Vosta.
Sandy was an amazing mother, daughter, sister, friend, wife and human-being. She threw herself in to life by joining clubs, cooking fantastic meals, sewing clothes, creating Christmas ornaments, crafting greeting cards, decorating, volunteering, and hosting friends and family. Her charm, beauty and flirtatious nature were the reason why everyone she met became her friend. Sandy’s greatest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother.
Sandy lived her life by three principles: 1) Love and be loved, 2) Forgiveness, and 3) Be grateful for what you have. She was generous and welcoming and had a smile and laugh to remember. She will be missed by so many.
