Obituary

Ruth R. Beach

October 8, 1943 - February 24, 2023

Ruth R. (Evans) Beach, 79, of Lincoln passed away February 24, 2023.  Born October 8, 1943in Stuart, NE to Lloyd & Edrie (Aldridge) Evans.  Ruth was raised on the Evans family farm located 11 miles northeast of Atkinson. Her brother Gary was born 4 years later.

Ruth enjoyed attending Sunday School and the Youth Fellowship dinner meetings at the First Presbyterian Church in Atkinson. She graduated from Atkinson High School with her class of 1961.

Ruth moved to Lincoln in 1961 and transferred her membership to First Presbyterian Church of Lincoln.  She studied bookkeeping at the Lincoln School of Commerce and graduated in 1963. She found a bookkeeping job with Korsmeyer Electric Supply Co. and she met Ralph Beach who was working there as a salesman.  This company became Husker Electric Supply Co. in 1976 and is still owned and operated by the Beach family.

As Ruth became an adult, she was energetic and always in a hurry to get things done. She also expected family members to get things done quickly. Ruth & Ralph were married in the church in 1967.  They made their home for many years on Santa Monica Ave. in Lincoln.  Their son Randy was born in 1971 and Ryan was born in 1982.  Ruth was active for many years at First Presbyterian Church where she served as Deacon and Elder, Past Matron of Starcraft Chapter #307, O.E.S, Naphis Temple #66, Daughters of the Nile, and St. David’s Welsh Society.

Ruth will be remembered as a loving and caring soul; she was always the first one to volunteer to go see someone in need or sit with.  She was always willing to give a hand and most of the time you find her down at First Presbyterian helping in whatever she could do.

Left to cherish her memories are Randy (Sara) Beach and their children Jackson, Tyson & Ava.  Her son Ryan (Sarah) Beach and their son Jordon.  Ruth’s brother Gary (Glenda) Evans and their son Roy (Tina) Evans, and many friends   in Lincoln.  Preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ralph L Beach, Jr.

Ruth was a good and loyal friend. We could always find things to laugh about when we were together. She will be missed.

Dear Beach family: I am Arta Smith , a member of FPC and knew your mother best through Presbyterian women’s circles. You chose a beautiful picture of your mother by the way. yes, indeed, your mother was always very diligent and wanted to definitely be a part of Presbyterian women, and serve wherever and whenever she could. She certainly has been missed since she’s been away from life at the church, as we also still miss your father very much! I will be making a memorial gift to Presbyterian women in memory of your mother. My condolences to all of you. Unfortunately, I’m on chemo at this time and the morning of your mother’s Service, I’m having an infusion, so I will not be able to attend and I will not be able to come to the visitation because I must be extremely careful about exposure to any kind of flu. But know I am keeping you in my prayers. May God bless you through this time and always,

– Arta Smith
