Ruth Hazel Ford

August 23, 1937 - September 6, 2024

Ruth Hazel Ford (née Buchhalter), 87, passed away on September 6, 2024. She was born in Detroit, MI, on August 23, 1937.

Ruth was a member of St. John of Kronstadt Orthodox Church in Lincoln.

Ruth had close friends and acquaintances from church throughout her life. She doted on her grandson.
Many thanks to the caregivers and staff at Legacy Assisted Living and the new friends she met there, and to AseraCare Hospice for being there with her for support.

Survived by sister, Helene Engel, of West Bloomfield, MI. Son, James Ford, Adva (wife) and grandson, Jonathan, of Bat-Yam, Israel. Special friend Yelena Wassenberg of Lincoln, NE. Sisters-in-laws, nephews and nieces from Omaha, NE; St. Louis, MO, Denver, CO; Mevagissey, England; and West Bloomfield, MI. Preceded in death by parents, Asher and Rose Buchhalter, of Southfield, MI, husband, David Ford, and son, Dan Ford, of Lincoln, NE.

Ruth passed away at Legacy Assisted Living, 5600 Pioneers Blvd, where she resided since her husband’s death. She was under the care of AseraCare Hospice.

Service to be held 12:00 p.m., on, Saturday, September 21, 2024, at St. John of Kronstadt Orthodox Church, 2800 Holdrege St. Lincoln, NE. Viewing will be held 1 hr. prior to the service at the Church. Interment to follow at Wyuka Cemetery.
