Share a Memory or Condolence

November 15, 2024

I had the blessing of working with Dr. Brauer at Eastmont. His talents and knowledge were wonderful and he shared them always. We had many good conversations of your mom, medicine and his weaving. I will miss his wonderful heart and knowledge. My sympathy and prayers to his family.

Dr. Brauer was a colleague of my late father (and anesthesiologist) Keay Hachiya, MD., and Mary was a friend of my mother, Meredith. Keay and Russ were pioneers in the then-emerging discipline of anesthesiology when they came to Lincoln in the mid-1950s. The Brauer family lived near us on South Street (we lived on South 44th) and I remember playing with Rusty and family in Brauer’s lovely and substantial yard, and I think of them every time I drive past their home. My condolences to the Brauer family.

– Kim Hachiya
