He was born on September 26th, 1943, in York, NE. Ron and Sandi (Franzen) were married on November 2nd, 1968. For 40 years, he worked at the UNL School of Biological Sciences. He enjoyed growing a bountiful garden, tinkering on vehicles and home projects, chopping a profuse amount of firewood, and, of course, rooting on the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Mostly, Ron loved spending time with his entire family and friends. His wife, Sandi; son, Scott; daughter, Carrie; son-in-law, Joe; grandchildren Kimberlina, Diego, and Reina Rodriguez will miss him deeply.
He is survived by a sister, Carolyn Barnard, Beatrice; brothers-in-law, Ray Franzen, Exeter; Leonard Franzen, California; sisters-in-law, Francis Nelson, Valparaiso; Annie Griese, Washington; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 13th, 2024 from 5-7pm at Roper & Sons Midtown Chapel (4300 “O” St, Lincoln).
A Celebration of Ronald’s life will follow on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 2:00 PM also at Roper & Sons Midtown Chapel. Casual attire is requested by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family for a future designation.
