Robert L. “Bob” Seidell, 82, of Mequon, WI and Bonita Springs, FL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Hope Hospice. A longtime resident of Mequon, WI, Bob had spent his winters as a seasonal resident of Bonita Springs since 2003.
Born in Lincoln, NE, on September 24, 1942, Bob was the son of the late Victor L. and Doris (Foster) Seidell. He graduated from the University of Nebraska, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. During his time at the university, Bob was a proud member of The Innocents Society, the Chancellor’s Senior Honorary, and a lifelong supporter of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He remained a passionate fan of Cornhusker Athletics, especially Husker football. Go Big Red!
Bob’s professional career began at IBM, where he spent 20 years in sales. He later served as President of M&I Data Services in Milwaukee, WI, before acquiring Jordan Controls, a company specializing in electronic and hydraulic actuators. Throughout his career, Bob was known for his integrity, leadership, and dedication to excellence.
A passionate golfer, Bob was a dedicated member of both Shadow Wood Country Club in Bonita Springs and North Shore Country Club in Mequon. He was a past President of Shadow Wood Country Club and North Shore Country Club and remained actively involved in both clubs throughout his life. Bob’s love for the outdoors extended beyond golf—he was an avid fisherman and hunter, traveling the world to indulge his passions. Bob was currently serving as President of the Brooks Fishing Club and was an active member of the Singing Brooks Group.
Bob will be remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for his devotion to his family and his love for life. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Janet Marie (Skaro) Seidell; his loving daughters, Amy (Clifford) Cancelosi of Bozeman, MT, and Kelli (Michael) LaValle of Mequon, WI; his sister, Sherry (Ray Monroe) Hutchison of Lincoln, NE; and his cherished grandchildren, Sophia Cancelosi, Jack LaValle, Nick LaValle, and Bella Cancelosi.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Donald Skaro.
Visitation to be held at Roper & Son’s South in Lincoln, NE from 5:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, March 27th. Burial will take place on Friday, March 28th at 11:00 am at Yankee Hill Cemetery in Lincoln.
Additionally, a visitation in Mequon, WI will take place at Schmidt & Bartelt in Mequon, WI on Thursday, April 3rd from 5:00-7:00.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 4th at 1:00 pm at Fox Point Lutheran Church in Fox Point, WI.
