Robert J. Glenn, 85, Lincoln, died Wednesday (9-23-09). Born (8-1-24) in Lincoln, Nebraska to Presley R. and Winifred L. (Kaufman) Glenn. Ret. 1989, Educator at Southeast Community College, Lincoln Campus. WWII U. S. Army Veteran, Platoon Sergeant, 90th Infantry Division, General Patton’s 3rd Army. Life member of the Disabled American Veterans for wounds received in combat in Europe and Battle of the Bulge, recipient of 3 Purple Hearts. Graduate of Lincoln High School where he was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 1987. Graduate of University of Nebraska Lincoln (1951) were he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Member: Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Family members include wife: Carol Jean (McGrew) Glenn; daughter, son-in-law: Susan J. and David McCoy, all of Lincoln; son, daughter-in-law: Steve J. and Kay Glenn, Lincoln; granddaughter, spouse: Jennifer A. and Bret Bunnell, Papillion; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, brother – Presley “Pat” Glenn, sister: Maxine L.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday (9-28-09) Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2110 Sheridan Blvd. Rev. Dr. Andrew L. McDonald officiating. Prior private burial.
