Robert H.”Bob” Lau, a frequent summer visitor to Colorado Springs, died June 3 at a hospice in Lincoln, Neb., at the age of 99.
He spent summers in Colorado Springs for more than 50 years, playing golf at the Broadmoor resort every day. He walked the courses there for many years, carrying his golf bag, and only in later years used a caddy. He played golf in Lincoln till well into his 90s.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine “Lou” Lau (formerly Lou Wheeland of Colorado Springs), and a son, Robert B. Lau, three stepsons, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held June 13 at the First Plymouth Congregational Church in Lincoln.
