Obituary

Robert ‘Bob’ Miller

July 4, 1946 - February 20, 2025

Robert L. “Bob” Miller, 78, of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025.

Bob was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on July 4, 1946, to Burl and Ramona “Marian” (Dale) Miller. Bob graduated from Lincoln High School, earning a Regents Scholarship to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. After briefly attending UNL, Bob went to work for Safeway Grocery Stores. Bob then took the leap and epitomized the ideal of finding a way to make a living doing what you love by opening Lyn-Co Stamps and Coins in 1975. Bob continued working until shortly before his passing; however, it was never truly work to him. Bob and his first wife Nancy had two children, Brian and Sarah. In 1988, Bob married Jean who came with three children of her own (Emily, Jeff and Erica).

When Bob wasn’t working, he enjoyed watching Husker football and volleyball with his wife of 37 years, Jean, reading science fiction and spending time with family.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Burl and Marian Miller, his brother Richard Miller. Bob is survived by his wife Jean (Calkins) Miller, his sister Sandra “Sandi” Miller (David “Dave” Leone), his son Brian (Sunshine) Miller, his daughter Sarah Miller, his stepchildren Emily (Ballew) Svendgard, Jeffrey Ballew, Erica (Ballew) Martin and 9 grandchildren.

I have nothing but fond memories of Bob and his ever-present generosity during our family gatherings. Always helpful and a master of all things coin and stamp related, I will miss him and the times we spent together.
