Alan (Bob) was the first son of Arthur and Eileen. Growing up, he had two sisters, Pam and Peg. Although Alan moved around while growing up, he called Lincoln home.
In 1986, Alan graduated from Millard South High School and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Alan went on to work at Hillaero Aviation and after years of dedication and pure talent, he became a leading figure in the industry.
Alan met the love of his life, Leanna, while working at a local pet shop in Lincoln. Without fail, Alan showed up to work last, so he was always stuck with cleaning the puppy kennels.
Their fateful meeting led to 34 beautiful years of marriage and their loving daughter, Sidney.
Alan was known for his wild stories, chatting to strangers, being the last one to leave the campfire, his beautiful drawings, his critical eye for detail, his undeniable humor, his goofy faces, his disastrous gingerbread trucks, his love for adventures, and his endless projects. While the rest of his family is known for their crazy antics, Alan’s patience and reliability brought stability.
More than anything, Alan loved his wife and daughter. He was always willing to drop everything to help them as well as anyone who needed his expertise. Whether the problem involved art, electric wiring, or woodworking, he could do it all. A true jack of all trades.
Left behind to cherish his loving memory are his wife, Leanna; his daughter, Sidney; his sister, Peg; his extended family; and all his geckos.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Schlesiger and Eileen Holly; and his sister, Pam.
The Celebration of Life will take place on February 1, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Seven Willows—7600 Panama Rd, Hickman, Nebraska.
Memorials can be given to the family to donate to a charity at a later date.
