Richard T. “Mickie” Weidman, 93, Lincoln, peacefully passed away Tuesday (12-22-09) with family at his side. Born (8-9-16) in Essex, Iowa to Tom and Hazel (Nesmith) Weidman. Richard retired in 1976 after working twenty plus years at USP & FO.
Member: First United Methodist Church where he served as elder; Lancaster Lodge #54, A.F. & A.M.; Electa Chapter #8, O.E.S.; Sesostris Shrine. A 1941 graduate of UNL; member of the ‘N’ Club, lettering in tennis; WWII Army Veteran; American Legion Post #3; volunteer tennis coach at Lincoln Northeast High School.
Family members include wife of 68 years, Evelyn; daughters, son-in-law: Jeanne and Ron Siske, Ralston, Wendy Robinson, Overland Park, KS; 8 grandsons: Lanny (Kelly) Stoltenberg, Colorado Springs, CO, Les (Nicki) Stoltenberg, Houston, TX, Tony (Paula) Siske, Randy (Angie) Siske, Tommy (Jess) Siske, Josh Siske, Andrew Robinson, Alex Robinson; 5 great grandsons. Preceded in death by daughter Marguerite “Peggy” Albertson, sister Eleanor Jones, granddaughter Nicole Siske.
Family will greet friends from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Thursday at the Gateway Senior Living Penthouse, 225 N. 56th St. for a Celebration of Life Gathering.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday (12-26-09) First United Methodist Church, 2723 N. 50th St. Pastor Jamie Norwich-McLennan officiating.
Cremation.
