Richard (Dick) Garratt, 88 Lincoln passed away on March 3rd 2023.
He was born February 4th, 1935 in Jansen, NE to Fred and Elsie (Ridpath) Garratt
Richard was a retired corrections officer for the State of Nebraska. He also worked at Wendelin Bakery for 15 years.
Richard was a devoted father, grandfather, and husband. He was married to Barbara for 65 years and had 2 children, 3 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He was an avid wood worker, and enjoyed collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia.
Richard was known for being a very honorable, respectable, and hard working man that never failed to show up for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him and loved him. However, the values and love that he instilled in his family will never be forgotten.
Family members include: daughter Deb Morgan, son Robert Garratt, both of Lincoln. Grandchildren: Brandee Garratt, Rebecca Garratt, and Melissa (Andrew) Tucker. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, wife Barbara, brothers Arnold and Arlond Garratt, and daughter-in-law Sheri Garratt.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
