Richard A. “Dick” Deer, 84, Lincoln, died Tuesday (7-13-10). Born (5-20-26) in Indianapolis, IN to Howard F. and Ruth M. (Griffith) Deer. WWII U. S. Army Veteran. Ret. Vice President of Sales, Sandoz Pharmaceuticals for 29 years. Member: South Gate United Methodist Church, Country Club of Lincoln, Executive Club of Lincoln, American Legion Post #3. Avid golfer, cigar aficionado, ‘barbecutioner’ and world traveler. An adoring grandfather, true gentleman, respected and loved by many.
Family members include son, daughter-in-law: John H. and Jolene Deer, Sidney, NE; daughter: Amanda E. Deer, Lincoln; grandsons: Garrett Allen Deer and Mitchell James Deer, Sidney, NE; brother-in-law: John Ferguson, Berkeley, CA; special friend: June Brunmeier, Lincoln; and Sam, his dog. Preceded in death by wife Marjorie, parents, brothers Robert L. and Howard I. Deer.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Friday (7-16-10) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street. Prior private interment.
