Raymond Paul Hartley, 79, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018 at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Hebron, NE, on December 26, 1938 to Edwin L and Myrtle (McMillan) Hartley. Ray attended Elliott Elementary, Whittier Jr. High and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1956. He retired from Leach Camper Sales in 2003. Ray was a member of the Fighter Intercepter Squadron stationed here in Lincoln. In 1959 Ray married Rebecca “Becky” Nelson and they celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on September 11, 2018. Raymond was a member of the NE Air National Guard, charter member of the Cornhusker Leather Crafters and Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church.
Ray is survived by his wife of 59 years, Becky; daughter, Sandy (Lee) Kolb; son David (Janet) Hartley; daughter, Chris Hartley (Kenny Arington), all of Lincoln; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; brother, Edwin (Sharon) Hartley.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday (9/28) at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, 8300 E. Pointe Rd, Lincoln.
Visitation will be held Thursday, (9/27) from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Roper and Sons Funeral Home, 4300 ‘O’ Street.
Memorial contributions may be directed towards the Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church Foundation or to Tabitha Hospice.
