Ralph N. “Red” Lichtenberger, 88, of Ceresco, NE passed away October 25, 2023. Born February 1, 1935, in Hollenberg, KS to Howard and Alta (Townsend) Lichtenberger.

Red was a US Navy Veteran. He worked as a foreman for Capital Bridge Company, retiring after 38 years.

Red was a member of American Legion Post #244 in Ceresco.

Survivors include his wife, Joann; daughter Rebecca Tockey (Dennis Zarek); granddaughter Kascha (Ulysses) Ventura; great grandchildren Sierra, Kira, Xavier, and Bekka; great great grandson Thiago; his brother Rex (Byrtilla); numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, siblings Robert, Roe, Ross, Shirley, Coral, and an infant sister.

Funeral service: 11:00 am Saturday, November 4, 2023, Evangelical Covenant Church, 208 W. Pine St, Ceresco. Burial at Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Ceresco, NE, with military rites.

Visitation with family present from 5-7 pm Friday, November 3, 2023, at the church.

I have a lot of fond memories of working with “Red” on the Northport North overpass. Red was a mentor to me and taught me a lot of things about bridge construction. I respected him. He is one of the great ones! Taking a ride with him in his Red corvette on a Saturday morning will for always be remembered! 🙂 I pray for Joan and family at this tough time, but know Red will be building those bridges in heaven! May you RIP my friend. Gone but NEVER forgotten!
