Patricia Ann Ward

January 25, 1937 - December 1, 2016

Patricia Ann Ward passed away on December 1, 2016 in Lincoln, NE. Pat was born in Hollywood, CA on January 25, 1937 to Orville and Florence Nelson. She lived in Burbank, CA until she moved to Newport Beach at the age of 13.

Pat graduated from Newport Harbor High School and attended Pasadena City College. She was an Honored Queen of Job’s Daughters. She married her high school sweetheart in 1957. She and husband, Gene, were blessed with four beautiful children. They moved from southern California to Denver and then to Roswell, NM, Albuquerque, NM, Lincoln, NE and Colorado Springs. They loved Lincoln so much they decided to return to Lincoln in 1969 to raise their family.

Pat worked in surgery at Bryan Memorial Hospital and became a Realtor in 1972. She was a member of the Realtor Association of Lincoln, the Nebraska Realtors Association and the National Association of Realtors. She served as Director of the Realtor Association of Lincoln and many association committees until her retirement in 2011.

Her honors from the Realtor industry included: Lincoln Realtor of the Year in 1996, was Realtor of the Year with Woods Bros Realty in 2003 and was a Past President of the Nebraska Chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors. She has been an active member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church.

Survivors include, daughters, Kathi (Mark) Hesser, Karen (Greg) Duncan, Shelley (Todd) Reimers, all of Lincoln and son, Gino (Laura) Ward of Lakeville, MN, 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Barbara Nelson and Pat(Ward) Talbott. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gene, and brother, Ken Nelson.

Memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, December 9, 2016 at Sheridan Lutheran Church, 6955 Old Cheney Rd, Lincoln, NE 68516. Private inurnment at St. Matthew’s Columbarium.
