Oleta Slocum, 92, of Lincoln, passed away February 18, 2019. Born January 19, 1927 in McMillan, OK to Floyd E. and Edith V. (White) Greer. Ret. secretary in the physical plant at UNL after 15 years.
Oleta was a graduate of Madill High School in Madill, OK. She received her BS degree in 1949 from Oklahoma State University where she graduated with honors. She was a member of the Mortar Board, Phi Kappa Phi, Omicron Nu, Student Senate and Who’s Who in colleges and universities.
Family members include her daughters Linda (Lance) Gloe, Omaha, Cathy Bihler, Seattle, WA, Shelley Meyers, Mission, KS and Pamela (Rob) Schwarck, Lincoln; grandchildren John (Julia) Gloe, Lincoln, David (Nancy) Gloe, Chicago, IL, Bryce (Rachel) Meyers, Omaha, Mallory Meyers, Lincoln, Benjamin (Amanda) Bihler, Seattle, WA and Meredith (Garrett) Meyer, Colorado Springs, CO; 9 great-grandsons and 4 great-granddaughters. Preceded in death by her parents and husband of 45 years Donald.
Memorial Service: 10:30 A.m. Thursday (2-21-19) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street.
