Nelma (Midge) Margery Wicken Gillam passed away at her home in Lincoln, NE with her loving family with her on May 3, 2018. Born the 11th child of 12 on August 30, 1940, in Maddock, ND, to William Carl and Leora Wicken. She married her high school sweetheart Donald F. Gillam on January 26, 1961. Graduate of Lincoln High School. Retired from Gooch Milling & Elevator. Blood donor, donating 95 pints throughout her life. Midge was active in many sports, both as an avid player and enthusiastic fan. Best times were with family and friends, playing softball, dancing, playing cards, bingo. Treasured most were the times attending the activities of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Survived by her husband of 57 years Donald F. Gillam; daughters, Paige (Tony) Grant, Tracy Gillam with special friend Shane Rakow; son, D David F. (Anne) Gillam; grandchildren, Katie and Jerad Changstrom, Brianne Crooks, Elizabeth Fast, Thomas Crooks, Kimberly Gillam and Alexander Crooks; great grandchildren, Emmi, Haleigh, Brynnlee and Declan Changstrom, Sophia Crooks-Roth; 3 sisters and 2 bothers.
Preceded in death by parents; 2 sisters; 4 brothers; grandchildren, Andrew, Jack, Ian, Jeff, Billy; and great granddaughter Hope Lou.
Celebration of Life: Monday, May 7, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at Roper and Sons Funeral Home, 4300 O Street Chapel, graveside service to follow. No visitation.
