N. W. “Jerry” Solomon

N.W. “Jerry” Solomon, 90, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully at home with his family on Monday March 19th, 2018.

Born on April 26th, 1927 in Culbertson, NE to Ralph “Doc” and Alma (Wacker) Solomon. He was the third of four brothers – Gene, Jack, and Jimmy.

Jerry attended Culbertson High school and served in the US Army Infantry. He graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln with a Music Education Degree. He owned the Jerry Solomon CLU & Associates General Agency until his retirement in 2005.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Solomon (Stephens), his children Steve Solomon and Cinda Curry (John), his three grandchildren, Robert Curry, Thomas Curry and Greta Solomon. He is also survived by his Brother Jimmy (Iris) of Puyallup, WA, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Jerry had a big spirit and was full of life. He was a passionate, dynamic and impactful person. He loved his family, his Church and was a true entrepreneur. He enjoyed and supported Nebraska Athletics, especially Basketball, Football and Golf.

Jerry loved music, with a gift for the piano. He was a true performer and rarely turned down the opportunity to play for any event.

He loved to serve and did so for his Church – Westminster Presbyterian, his Fraternity – Phi Gamma Delta, YMCA, Shriners, Red Cross and many Foundation Boards, scholarships and Alcohol Awareness programs.

The Solomon Family would like to extend a special thank you to Jerry’s dear friend, Chandler (Chan) Tyrell of Lincoln, the Landing Community and his nursing and care providers.

Celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at 11 am Tuesday, March 27th, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2110 Sheridan Blvd, Lincoln, NE 68502.

Memorials to Phi Gamma Delta Foundation, Westminster Presbyterian Church or your choice of any organization that supports children.
