Melvin L. “Boppie” Everson, 89, passed away October 16, 2015. Born, July 14, 1926 in Lincoln, NE to Louis Everson and Emma Pearl Meador. Melvin founded Merchandise Mart in 1948, also owned Havelock Furniture for 52 years before his retirement. He was a member of the Havelock United Methodist church.
Survivors include his Wife, Edie Everson; children, Susan Cover, Randy Everson, Doug (LuAnn) Everson; sister, Mildred (Ray) Henricksen; grandchildren, Robert Everson, David Everson, Stacey Cover Doehring, Sean Cover, Jamee Everson, Josh Everson and Kris Everson; and 17 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by first wife, Norma Riley Everson; Daughter Sandra Kathleen; sisters Carol Waggoner and Joyce Williams; brothers, Wesley Everson and Lyle Everson.
Visitation: Beginning noon Tuesday, family will greet friends 6-7:30 Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Roper and Sons.
Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Havelock United Methodist Church, 4140 N 60th St, Lincoln. Burial at Wyuka.
