Melvin Frances Gagner, 76, of Lincoln, passed away July 11, 2018. Born December 20, 1941 in St. Paul, NE to Edward “Jerry” and Mavis (Ross) Gagner. After moving to Lincoln Melvin graduated from Lincoln High School in 1960. And married Linda Frieden on February 18, 1960 they had 2 children Toni and Ed.
Melvin is survived by his daughter Toni (Kevin) Lewis; son Ed (Angie) Gagner, all of Lincoln; 4 grandchildren Ben Boardman, Brandi Earley, Steven Lewis, and Jordan Myers; 3 great-grandchildren Jackson, Brielle, and Harrison Earley; brother Jerry Gagner, Eagle and Myron (Karen) Gagner, Lincoln; sister Mavis (Bob) Newton, Lincoln. Preceded in death by parents, wife Linda, brothers Tommy and Larry Gagner.
Melvin was hardworking. He join the Army in August of 1962 and retired from the Army reserves in 1994. He started Gagner Construction in 1977 where he worked until he retired. And then gave advice and guided the company after he retired.
Over the years they raised cattle and other animals on the farm, he helped the kids with 4-H, was involved with Concerned Nebraskans for Cystic Fibrosis. Was a fan of football especially the Huskers (at least when they were winning).
Memorial Service: 3:00 p.m. Saturday (7-14-18) Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Drive (40th & Yankee Hill Rd.).
Honorary pallbearers are Ben Boardman, Matt O’Brian, John Klavoda, Mike Boardman, Mike Earley, Steven Lewis, Gary Nobbman and Ryan ‘Dog’ Hogancamp.
Cremation/Celebration of Life gathering from 5-7 p.m. Friday (7-13-18) with family present at Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel.
