Melba G. Stemm, 90, of Lincoln, passed away January 13, 2016. Born July 29, 1925 in Wallace, NE to Edward P. and Edith (Sparks) Wallin. Melba moved to Grant, NE as a baby and graduated from high school there. Attended Business School and worked 2 1/2 years at the Prisoner of War Camp at Scottsbluff, Nebraska during World War II and 28 years at the University of Nebraska, Conservation and Survey Division. She loved her family, her friends and her books.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Richard and Kathie Stemm; Omaha; daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Alex Walter, Lincoln, Dr. Shannon Stemm and Dr. Jeffrey Meade, Auburn; grandchildren, Dr. Richard Stemm, Omaha, Robert and Ali Stemm, Culver City, CA, Kaitlin Stemm, Omaha, Shannon Stemm, Chicago, IL, Madison Meade, Auburn; great-grandson, Rowan Stemm; sister-in-law, Elsie Wallin, Denver, CO; nieces, Dawn Malone, Colorado, Claudia Short and Cynthia Mathis, Oklahoma.
