Megan Lynn Mehmken, 25, Beatrice, died Saturday (5-21-11) at UNMC in Omaha, NE of complications from a rare form of pneumonia. Born (9-6-85) in Lincoln, Nebraska to Roy and Patricia (Obermiller) Mehmken. Megan was a Case Manager/Family Service Specialist at KVC Children and Youth Services in Beatrice. She previously worked at the State Health and Human Services, Child Protective Services Division and Russ’ Market Floral Dept. Graduate of Doane College, Crete. Member: First-Plymouth Congregational Church; Lincoln and Doane College Alumni. Former member Children’s Museum Youth Advisory Board assisting in the design of the new museum.
Megan had an infectious smile and a contagious laugh. She loved her family, and most of all, Herbie, her friends, work, music, flowers, traveling, having fun and so enjoyed bringing a smile to everyone’s face. She loved by her Rotti “Xochi” and kitty “Bubba”. She will be greatly missed.
Family members include father, Roy Mehmken; mother, Patricia Mehmken, both of Lincoln; fiancé, Joshua W. ’Herb’ Williams, Beatrice; grandmothers, Mildred M. Mehmken, Lincoln, Ursula M. Mayhew, Ashland; uncles, John Obermiller, Omaha, David Barnett, Florida; aunt, spouse, Deborah and Michael Moeller, Loup City; future mother-in-law, Alice Bryan, Ayr; future father-in-law, Jeffery R. Williams; future brother-in-law who was loved as a brother, Jeremiah J. Williams, both of Beatrice; numerous other family and friends. Preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Irvine Obermiller and paternal grandfather, Herman O. Mehmken.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday (5-26-11) First-Plymouth Congregational Church, 2000 ‘D’ Street. Rev. Barb Smisek and Rev. Fay Ann Blaylock, officiating.

Visitation: 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday with family greeting friends from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at Roper and Sons, 4300 ‘O’ Street.
