Maryhelen Moormeier Graul

Maryhelen Moormeier Graul, 85, of Lincoln died on May 4, 2021. She was born at home on July 29, 1935 in rural Roca, Nebraska, the daughter of Edwin Moormeier and Beryl (Jackson) Moormeier. She attended Rosehill Elementary, moved to Roca in 1949, and graduated from Roca High School. She lived in Roca while she attended and graduated from the Lincoln School of Commerce. She then worked for State Farm Insurance until June 14, 1955 when she married Roger Graul in the home church, Roca Methodist. They left on their honeymoon, which consisted of traveling (by car) to Roger’s first duty station, Athens, Georgia. After Roger got out of the Navy, she stayed at home in Lincoln to raise their two daughters, Sandra Rae and Susan Kay. When they were adults, she went back into the workforce working at Lincoln High School for 20 years and at Culler Middle School for 2 years as a Paraeducator in Lincoln Public Schools until her retirement in 2007.

She is survived by her husband Roger, her daughters and son-in-laws, Sandra and Michael Lee and Susan and Stephen Dolezal, grandchildren Matthew Lee (Elisabeth) and Stephanie Lee Revord (Seth), Great Granddaughters Emily and Hailey Revord, and Great Grandson Jonathan Lee, her sister Patty Kolder, sister-in-laws Betty Moormeier and Marcia Graul, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Beryl Moormeier, her in-laws Atlee and Matilda (Tillie) Graul, her brother Edwin (Eddie) Moormeier Jr., her brother-in-law, Dale Graul, her sister-in-law Doreen, her husband Ross Rector, her brother-in-law, Loren Graul and his wife Patricia, and her brother-in-law Warren Kolder.

Memorials to First-Plymouth Church or Peoples City Mission.

Funeral Service: 11:00 am Saturday (5-8-21) First-Plymouth Church, 2000 D Street. Face coverings are required.

Visitation will be 12:00 – 5:00 pm, Friday at Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street.
