Mary Maxine James

Mary Maxine James, 98, passed away on December 28, 2017 at Goldcrest in Adams, NE. Born March 31,1919 to Louis W. and Lillie C. (Crain) Lowe in Mullen, NE.

She worked as the Secretary to Lt. Col. in the War Dept. in Washington, DC for 4 years until 1945 and then was employed at the Sioux Ordinance Depot in Sidney, NE. Active in the Chi Omega sorority at UNL holding the office of Treasurer for 2 years and President for 1 year. Sunday school teacher, Guild Secretary, Treasurer & President, Member and Secretary Bishop’s Committee- St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church, 66 year member of the Episcopal Church.

Survived by son & daughter-in-law, Kenny E. (Alice) James of Sunset, South Carolina; Daughter & Son-in-law, Sherry (Charles) Meyer of Lincoln; grandchildren, Amanda James, Lacey Echenique, Jaime (Brian) Thimm & Jared (Emily) Meyer; great grandchildren, Elise, Will, Reese, Wyatt, Caden and Avery. Preceded in death by, husband, Wesley, parents and brother, Louis “Kenneth”
