Mary Ann and I went to the one room country school together. We also went to the same church and to the same High School. We reconnected on Facebook a number of years ago. When Mary Ann was probably in first grade and I was in second grade there was a blizzard. My father got us and our older brothers from school. We got to our farm, but my father could not get Mary Ann and her brother home so they stayed with us for a couple/few days. In the evenings we kids made shadow figures on the wall with the light from the kerosene lamp. My parents had a wood burning cook stove and a wood/coal/cob burning stove for heat so we had hot meals and we stayed warm. My father had to dig paths in the snow to the well to pump water to carry to the house. He also had to dig paths to get to the farm buildings to take care of the farm animals. This was a fun stay for us kids, but the blizzard was not fun for our parents. I was blessed to know Mary Ann, her brother, sister and parents.

Angie, I’m so sorry to learn of your Mom’s passing. She was a lovely lady and I have fond memories of her when you and I were friends years ago. Prayers for you and your family.
