Lori was born February 2nd, 1940 in Orleans, NE to Albert and Clara (Wilken) Fruhling. She was raised on a farm near Orleans, NE and attended Long Island High School in Long Island, KS. Lori was united in marriage to Richard D. Ryan on November 1, 1964. The couple made their home first in Kearney, then Ravenna, Walthill, Hooper, Wahoo, and York before Richard died in December of 2009. Her work life began as a secretary and a live-in Nanny before meeting her husband. They had four children Lisa, Michael, Amy, and James whom she stayed home to raise. When her children were older she worked at the Hooper Care Center as a CSN and then in-home healthcare for various Hooper residents. Lori worked for Service Master, a para-educator at two schools, and the Grand Central grocery in York.
Lori enjoyed starting home remodeling projects but not necessarily finishing them, painting, baking cinnamon rolls, drawing, church, and her relationship with God. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren gave her tremendous joy. Her dog Minnie held a very special place in her heart and visited her at Tabitha frequently.
Left to cherish her memory are Lisa Bergstraesser, Michael Ryan, Amy Ryan, James Ryan; Grandchildren Megan Ryan, Carson Ryan (Tara), Alexa Schnase, Madyson Schnase; Great Grandchildren Cosette Ryan and Cyprus Ryan.
Lori was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings Lloyd, Leland, Larry Fruhling, and Lenoa Snider.
