She was a graduate of Lincoln Southeast High School and Nebraska Wesleyan University.
Lindy’s life was forever touched by one special grade school teacher. From that point on, she knew working with children was to be her passion. It was that “Love of the Child” that drove her. She flourished in her profession, receiving the Scottish Rite Lincoln Public Schools Teacher of the Year award in 1980. While earning her Master’s and Doctorate degrees from UNL, Lindy served Lincoln Public Schools as a Coordinator and Vice Principal. Lindy was the first person to earn a Resource Teacher endorsement at the University of Nebraska. Also, from 2000 – 2012 she served on the Board of Governor’s at Nebraska Wesleyan University and now carries Emeritus status on this board. In 2010 Lindy received the very prestigious NWU Alumni Association Medal of Honor emblematic of her outstanding contribution to not only her school, but to her community, state, and country.
With her strong desire to serve others, Lindy found the time to volunteer on the boards of Family Services, Friendship Home, and Mourning Hope serving leadership roles on each.
