Dear Mrs. Nickerson and family, I have fond memories of you and your husband when my parents John and Stella Waldron and Family would host the Southeast Christmas gathering at our home. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. The passing of your husband and your daughter Marilee. I will be thinking of you and your family on Thursday, November 17 and Friday November 18, 2022. Psalm 23 1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley,[a]I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. On behalf of John and Stella Waldron’s daughter. Anastasia “Stacy” Lynn Waldron St. Louis Park, MN 55416

Kelcy and Family, please accept my condolences on the passing of your father. I was fortunate to have him “attempt” to teach me pre-calculus at LSE and he was very patient with those of us who struggled. I felt like he never gave up on us and what a great quality in a teacher. I also appreciated his support and interest in athletics and he was always interested in talking about our basketball team. I hope you can spend most of your time remembering all the good memories during this time of grieving. Thoughts and prayers coming your way.

Dear Nickerson family: I was lucky enough to have Len as a teacher all 6 of my semesters at Lincoln Southeast from the Fall of 1968 to the Spring of 1971. He had a great background in Math and I’m sure he could have taught at a much higher level than a high school class, but that was his calling that he enjoyed. He handled students well too as he let people have enough rope to have a good time in class, but would let people know when they were stepping over the line. He also helped people by taking his own time and taking several in my class to some Math contests. We did well in them (3rd in State one time) because he had us prepared well. After I graduated, I often saw him at basketball games as he had volunteered to be a sponsor and take tickets or do other duties. That was long before they started paying teachers to assist with that stuff. He’ll truly be missed.

I first met Mr. Nickerson while a student teacher at LSE in 1972. Our paths crossed over the years at LSE and district math events. Both of our sons, Ben and Dan, benefited from his instruction. He was a fine teacher and wonderful gentlemen. Your family will be in my prayers.
