Obituary

Leland “Buck” Leslie Hall

January 4, 1949 - December 30, 2024

Leland “Buck” Leslie Hall of Waverly, Nebraska, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, entered into eternal rest on 12/30/2024. Leland, lovingly known as Buck, was born to Clair and Phyllis Hall on January 4th, 1949 in Phillipsburg, Kansas in his grandparent’s home during a tremendous blizzard.

He grew up with three older sisters and told endless stories of their shenanigans. Buck married the love of his life, Gayle Rosenboom, on June 6th, 1969 and they were blessed with 55 years of marriage. To this union five daughters were born. He was a devoted, loving father who enjoyed his daughters and sons-in-law immensely. He was blessed with seven granddaughters, two grandsons, and two great grandsons. Certainly there is a special place in heaven for someone who spent much of his life surrounded by so many girls.

A humble man with a strong faith, Buck was baptized at and a long time member of Greenwood Christian Church, where he served as a Deacon, Bible Study Leader, and Sunday School teacher. Always a hard worker, Buck spent time employed at Judds Brothers and Rosenboom Construction, and later was a foreman for National Crane. He retired from Molex after 25 years, where he earned several Results Awards. Buck had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh with his jokes and stories. He was an incredible pool player and enjoyed being outside, fishing, gardening, animals that didn’t eat his garden, woodworking, inventing, watching Westerns, country dancing, playing checkers and cards, and listening to music.

He will be remembered for his kind heart, patience, and generosity. He adored his grandchildren and spent a lot of time with at least one either on his lap or playing by his feet. His happiest days were when his house was full of people he loved.

Survived by wife, Gayle, daughters Lisa (Doug) Sebastian of Auxvasse, MO, Tina (Pat) Molini of Waverly, NE, Abigail Hall of Waverly, NE, Angila (Mark) Schlegelmilch of St Augustine, FL, and Andria (Gary) Hall Eastep of Oklahoma City, OK, grandchildren Lilly (Austin) Wubbels, Ruby Molini, Shelby Cervantes, Greta, Ike, and Ivan Schlegelmilch, Marlee Persinger, Ruby and Stella Eastep, two great grandsons, sisters Roberta (Loren) Gooder of Neosho, MO, Marj (Ed) Beach of Phillipsburg, KS, Louise (Loyce) Breyer of Phillipsburg, KS, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents and niece, Rebekah Breyer.
