LaVerne R. Allen, 76, of Lincoln, died Wednesday (2-20-13). Born (1-8-37) in Onawa, IA to Marion W. and Iva P. (Williams) Allen. U. S. Navy Veteran. Ret. Carpet Layer and owner of several commercial buildings. Member: VFW and American Legion Post #131. LaVerne used to race the blue #64 stock car and was a member of the Beatrice Racing Hall of Fame. He was a car enthusiast, loved to fish and enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Survived by wife, Marilyn of 57 long years; son, Trent (Kelly) Allen; daughters, Tammy (John) Turner, Toni Miller, Tiffany (Troy) Leach, all of Lincoln, Trisha (Scott) Brown, Bellevue, WA; step-daughter, Teri (Terry) Ernisse, Lincoln; grandchildren, Lane and Logan Allen, Rylee and Brooklyn Turner, Cody and Corey Miller, Tanner Leach, all of Lincoln, Brittany and Jesse Brown, Bellevue, WA; step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; brother, Gordon (Elaine) Allen, Rome, GA.
Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Monday (2-25-13) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ St. Casual dress requested.
