Larry and Jean are friends that we have probably spent more time with than anyone over the past 30+ years. We’ve gone to hundreds of movies with them, watched countless sporting events, taken road trips, you name it. Larry was a kind and loyal friend who would do anything for you (and he would know how to do it). He loved and was enthusiastic and excited about life. This has been like losing a brother; we miss him a bunch.

To Larry’s family, I am so sorry for your loss. He loved his family and was so proud. I knew Larry though our interactions on the national level and pesticide safety education – starting in ND and ending in AZ. All I can say is wow, what a loss of a statesman among statesmen. Larry came by the Arizona Capitol a few years back and took the time to look me up – what a pleasant surprise. Enjoying life and seeing the sites. Larry had a kind soul and always treated everyone with respect. I like everyone who got to know Larry am better for it and grateful to have known him. I am grateful he knows God and I believe he is happily looking down on us and can’t wait to see us all again. That is the good news.

My condolences to Larry’s family and friends. I new Larry from my work with Pesticides Control for many years. We spent time together at many National meetings. He was a real standup guy and always had important ideas and suggestions. He will be greatly missed.

Larry was such a dear neighbor and friend to my parents and family. He and Dad would go on side-by-side rides around the neighborhood and check out the “big dig”. It is such a large loss to lose both Dad and Larry and such a short time. Deepest sympathies, Jean.

Larry’s zest for life and quest to understand the way the world works will be missed by all. I don’t know if there was topic or idea that didn’t spark his interest and imagination. He will be missed.

Larry was my dear friend and colleague. I was a much better extension professional because of him. I am very sad of this loss. He was a great man.

Larry was a kind and gentle man, I met him in 2017 as a coworker at QP Ace hardware, he started work by saying good morning and followed up with a funny joke, he was intelligent, considerate, and fun to work with. He will be missed by many! God bless his wife and family

Larry Schulze was the quintessential Nebraskan. He was raised on a farm, attended the university, and worked as an ag agent. He loved his wife and daughters, the state of Nebraska, the university, his job, his God and church, people, and life itself. He was always learning new things and constantly helping others. I have many great memories of Larry, but the one that stands out most prominently, is when he took in 1988 to see the Sand Hill Cranes near Grand Island. I had moved to Nebraska from PA and the migration of the cranes was new to me. It was amazing and I will never forget it. That was typical of Larry, always wanting to share with someone else how wonderful Nebraska is. I count him as one of my closest friends, even though we lived 1,200 miles apart.
