Julie Elizabeth Reed

July 20, 1950 - August 18, 2024

Julie Elizabeth Reed was born July 20, 1950, and died August 18, 2024, in Lincoln.

Julie lived in Lincoln her whole life. She graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School and the University of Nebraska. She was an elementary school teacher and taught at several Lincoln schools, finishing her career at Hawthorne Elementary School.

She is preceded in death by her parents A. Grant and Jean (Humphrey) Reed and brother-in-law John A. Rasmussen.

I first saw Julie at Cheerleading Clinic at Wesleyan in 1967 when she cheered for Lincoln Southeast and I cheered for Grand Island Central Catholic. She was a stunningly beautiful woman. Julie and I later taught children in second grade together in Lincoln. She was kind and she was passionate about her faith and her family, her students and her dogs. I am so sorry about her passing. The world has lost a very sweet and kind human being, a lovely soul. May you forever rest on angels’ wings Julie. Peace be with you dear friend.

Our Lincoln Southeast reunion was last summer. Julie and I hugged and laughed and talked about growing old, she was always dear. Julie will be missed ❤️
