Judith R. “Judy” Walt, 75, formerly of Lincoln, died peacefully the morning of April 1, 2013 at Crestview Care Center in Milford, NE. Born November 3, 1937 in Lincoln, NE the second daughter of Edward J. and Bess (Dodson) Walt, Jr. Judy grew up in a musical family. She enjoyed singing in the choir at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
She loved to needlepoint and produced some beautiful pieces. Over the years, Judy made special friends, Ruth, Linda, Jackie, Betty and the staff at Crestview Care Center where Judy resided the last 17 years of her life. Although Judy endured a lifetime of challenges due to developmental learning and physical disabilities, she captured our hearts with her remarkable sense of humor and continued to surprise us with her acute memory of days, dates, places and directions.
Judy is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law: Mary Catherine “Mickey” and Joe Lutjeharms, of Lincoln, Leslie and Tru Connealy, of Boise, Idaho, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. The family extends our gratitude to the staff of Crestview Care Center in Milford for their years of exceptional care and compassion.
A private graveside service with immediate family members is planned. Judy will be laid to rest next to her mother and father at Wyuka Cemetery.
