Josie and her family migrated to Lincoln, NE, when she was a child in search of a better life. Josie began her English education in the 4th grade at Everett Elementary and later graduated from Lincoln High School. She went on to work at Dairy Land Insurance Company and retired from Square D Company. In her retirement, she worked as an interpreter for Language Linc, serving the healthcare system and Lincoln Public Schools. In addition, Josie was an active long-time Community member of Cristo Rey Church and a member of “The Guadalupanos” a Cristo Rey Church group.
Josie was passionate about good food, socializing, and making floral arrangements and helping others. She enjoyed watching game shows and home shopping networks, but her favorite pastime was making dinner for her family. She had a contagious smile that could light up any room, and quickly made friends wherever she went.
