John Arthur Whitworth

March 30, 1944 - September 18, 2024

John Arthur Whitworth passed away September 18th 2024 at the Waterford estates, College View, Lincoln, Ne. He was born March 30th, 1944 to Dave and Marjorie (Bernstein) Whitworth in Lincoln, Ne.

John was raised in a loving family on a peony farm on South 48th St. founded by his mother, Marjorie and her father, John Wolzdorf Bernstein. John graduated from Southeast High school in 1962.

John married Sharon Hilty in 1966 and was a loving father to Wade and Reed Whitworth. John had a long employment with Concrete Industries. John was also an avid coin and gun collector and had an extensive and large collection of each.

John was a member of the NRA, the Isaac Walton club, the Hobo Nickel Society and was also a Numismatic, specializing in the study of coins and currency.

John was preceded in life by his parents, Dave and Marjorie Whitworth and his brother Dave Whitworth.

Left to celebrate his life are his longtime companion, Goldie Felton and his sons Wade Whitworth of Lincoln and Reed Whitworth (Rita Christian) of Lexington.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 26, 10:00 A.M. visitation and 11:00 service at Roper and sons, Midtown Chapel.
