Joan S. “Jo” Phillips, 81, of Lincoln, died Sunday, July 1, 2012. Born September 18, 1930 in Lincoln, Nebraska to John K. and Ardene (Hammond) Selleck. Retired Co-Owner of Mom’s Maternity and Children’s store where she spent a lot of her life helping breast cancer survivors. A graduate of the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 1952 where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Married John D. “Jack” Phillips on June 6, 1953. Member of First-Plymouth Congregational Church, Country Club of Lincoln, and Junior League.
Family members include her husband Jack; son: John Phillips, Jr., St. Louis, MO; daughter and son-in-law: Ginny Phillips and Bill Weesner, Lincoln; step-grandchildren: Alex Palensky and Nate Weesner. Preceded in death by parents.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2012 at Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street, Prior private interment.
Memorials in lieu of flowers to University of Nebraska Foundation for Nebraska Medical Center Research for Pancreatic or Breast Cancer.
