Jerry J. Motz, 72, of Lincoln, died August 19, 2018. Born April 10, 1946, in Lincoln to James C. and Nelle M. (McCauley) Motz.
1964 Northeast Graduate, Lettering in Basketball, Baseball and Football; Nebraska Wesleyan Graduate; 41 Year Insurance Adjustor for General Adjustment Bureau, Alexander & Alexander Insurance and Fox Claims; Lincoln Northeast Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee; Nebraska State Softball Hall of Fame; Longtime Basketball and Football Referee; Played Triple A Fast Pitch Softball. He coached both boys & girls basketball and baseball and served as a volunteer assistant coach at Sterling High School, Central City High School and Columbus High School.
Survivors include his wife, Marcia Motz; Sons and Daughters-in-law, Jeff & Jami Motz of Lincoln, Jimmy & Mackenzie Motz of Columbus; Four Grandchildren, Tenaj, Jered, Jayce and Maguire Motz; Nieces & Nephews. Preceded in death by parents, sisters, Eileen Motz, Patricia Moser, Bunny Penton and brother-in-law, Warren Moser.
Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 23, 2018 at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church 8550 Pioneers Blvd. Pastor Cheryl Gage Officiating.
