Jennifer Lynn Johnson

April 7, 1975 - December 9, 2022

Jennifer Lynn Johnson, 47, of Waverly passed away December 9, 2022. Born April 7, 1975, in Lincoln, NE to Henry and Lois (Pape) Dettmer.

Jennifer was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Waverly and was active in Choose Courage Foundation.

Jenni loved her family and friends with her whole heart, she loved to bring a smile to everyone’s faces with her silliness and kind loving nature. Jenni’s love for her boys and husband was endless, she loved spending time together with them during family game nights, movie nights or on family vacations. Jenni’s sisters all had a special bond of love that only sisters can share, her love for her Dad and Mom was beyond words. Jenni loved flowers, crafting, her pets, animals of all shapes and sizes. Jenni had a special gift to spread joy wherever she happened to be, she always strived to help people in need and never did so to be in the spotlight. Jenni was a strong Christian believer whose faith guided her life. Jenni’s memory will be carried on for generations to come.

Family members include her husband, Steve; sons Matthew and Owen; sisters Kim (Alex) Harrison, Lincoln and Christine (Gerry) Anderson, Ashland; father Henry “Hank” Dettmer, Lincoln; niece Shaina Anderson. Preceded in death by her mother Lois and infant sister Debra.

Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Friday (12-16-22) First United Methodist Church, 14410 Folkestone, Waverly, NE. Burial is the Wisner City Cemetery at 2:30 pm.

Visitation with family present from 4-6 pm Thursday (12-15-22) Roper and Sons Waverly Chapel, 10851 N. 148th Street.
